“…This was achieved partially through their ability to reroute continental meltwater runoff, with resultant modification of oceanic circulation and climate, as demonstrated around the North American (Broecker et al, 1989;Clark et al, 2001) and European ice sheets (Gibbard, 1988;Mangerud et al, 2004;Toucanne et al, 2009a).
