“…The in situ DRIFTS spectra have been obtained to investigate the adsorption behaviors of different compounds on the 10K 2 CO 3 /γ-Al 2 O 3 catalyst and the γ-Al 2 O 3 support (Figure ). For instance, the bands at 2936 and 2808 cm –1 of methanol adsorbed on K 2 CO 3 /γ-Al 2 O 3 shown in Figure a could be ascribed to the C–H vibration of the methoxy species. In addition, the bands at 1400, 1306, and 1056 cm –1 could be assigned to the C–O vibration of the methoxy species. , The bands at 1401 and 1060 cm –1 of methanol adsorbed on γ-Al 2 O 3 shown in Figure b were also detected, which could be ascribed to the methoxy species bonded to the alumina surface. Therefore, it is suggested that methanol could be adsorbed on both the K 2 CO 3 and γ-Al 2 O 3 active sites with a dissociative adsorption mode and a similar adsorption strength.…”

“…The proposed general mechanism of methanol-to-DME dehydration over the alumina surface is shown in Scheme 2 [59]. The methanol molecule interacts with the surface alumina oxygen anion and aluminium cation.…”

“…A study showed that the binding between -OH and other substance became weaker with heating by in-situ DRIFTS [18]. EVOH is usually processed at around 195°C, so the hydrogen bonding is also studied during heating.…”
