Three-dimensional supramolecular architecture in imidazolium hydrogen 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoroterephthalate

Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title salt formed between 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoroterephthalic acid (H(2)tfbdc) and imidazolium (ImH), C(3)H(5)N(2)(+).C(8)HF(4)O(4)(-), contains one Htfbdc(-) anion and one ImH(2)(+) cation, joined by a classical N-H...O hydrogen bond. The acid and base subunits are further linked by N-H...O and O-H...O hydrogen bonds into infinite two-dimensional layers with R(6)(5)(32) hydrogen-bond motifs.
