Theory of the photon‐drag effect in semiconductors with elliptical isoenergetic surfaces and its application to tellurium crystals

Abstract: The components uiklrn of the photon-drag tensor are calculated within the framework of the Boltzmann equation for a model band structure with elliptical isoenergetic surfaces. Allowed direct optical t,ransitions between two para.bolic sub-valence-bands are considered. The theoretical results are applied to the photon-drag effect in tellurium. Scattering of carriers on acoustic and polar-optical phonons in the relaxat,ion time approximation is taken into account. Comparison with experimental results is made.Die… Show more
