Academia–enterprise collaboration is understood as a determinant that improves innovation and competitiveness. The mechanisms by which this collaboration occurs have awakened increasing interest among academics, as well as in the business sector. This research aims to identify how open innovation communities can mediate the academia-enterprise relationship, as well as the factors that are more affected by this mediation. Based on the literature, the article addresses the definition of open innovation communities (OICs), university–enterprise cooperation, knowledge transfer (KT), as well as an understanding of OICs as a mechanism for academia–enterprise transfer. An analysis of twelve OICs, conformed by professors, students, graduates, and experts from a Colombian higher education institution is performed. For the data analysis, a factor analysis involving structural equation modeling is carried out. Our results highlight the most important characteristics to take into account in the study of knowledge transfer when OICs are involved, and they also indicate the level of connection between these factors.

This article proposes a conceptual framework for the analysis of varieties of academic capitalism. The central thesis maintains that these varieties arise from the specific characteristics that in each country organize the the three vertical blocks that make up national systems of higher education (HE): (i) its grounding political economy structure, (ii) the organizational field and the coordination dynamics between universities, and (iii) the systems’ governance modalities, its policy paradigm and instruments. Each variety of academic capitalism is characterized by the degree of privatism in these three blocks and their constituent elements. Thus, in the case of the political economy regime, the level of private presence in the provision and financing of a system plays a determining role and, therefore, the degree of marketization, commodification, commercialization and financialization of higher education. In the case of the organizational field, the impact of these previous processes on the entrepreneurialization and managerialism of participating institutions and on the competition and coordination of HE is of particular interest, as well as the degree of freedom and regulation that prevail in the relevant HE markets. Finally, the governance of academic capitalism depends in each case on the paradigms that guide public policies, the selection of policy instruments, and the way in which stakeholders participate in the governance structure. A brief summary and identification of future research lines for further studying varieties of academic capitalism complete this article.

Innovative activity of universities and the formation of entrepreneur universities of the innovative type is one of the forms of integration of the higher education systems of countries into the world educational and scientific space, support of their competitiveness. Based on the separation of interaction between universities and the economy and society, an evolutionary model of the university's interaction with stakeholders was developed. Understanding the new mission of universities made it possible to separate the dominants of activities of an innovative and active university (IAU), to develop a scheme of the interconnection of management processes and its basic functions. The authors' interpretation of the IAU and the preconditions for constructing a corporate information and education system (CIES) was formed. Given the synergism and hybridity of modern cyber threats, the rise of corruption in the educational sphere, the Anti-corruption concept, which provides countering the elements of corruption and integrated hybrid threats through the construction of an adaptive information protection system (AIPS). The basis of corruption counteraction is the digital signature (DS) of the Key Certification Center (KCC) based on PKI (Public Key Infrastructure). To ensure the security of information resources (IR) of CIES, we proposed a model that makes it possible not only to take into consideration the synergy and hybridity of modern threats but also to form preventive anti-corruption measures. A model for providing anti-corruption measures that reflects the scenarios of the behavior of the participants of the corruption process and the anti-corruption bodies was developed. This makes it possible to assess the dynamics of the distribution of corruption deals over time and by the types of corruption to ensure the effective distribution of the university resources for anti-corruption activities
