The use of physics pocketbook based on augmented reality on planetary motion to improve students' learning achievement

Abstract: This article is one of the results of the augmented reality (AR)-based pocketbook development on the planetary motion which focuses on student learning achievement. The study used the ADDIE model: "Analysis-Design-Development-Implementation-Evaluation". In the Spring Semester 2020, researchers took these steps in producing an AR-based pocketbook on planetary motion materials. The trial carried out on 30 students at a public high school in Surabaya, Indonesia. Evaluation parameters included the quality of AR-ba… Show more

“…Several studies have developed and implemented AR-based media in learning [39][40][41][42]. For example, Suprapto et al [43] conducted an AR-based pocketbook trial on the study of planetary motion physics subject. The results showed the improvement of pretest-posttest scores in students' learning achievement.…”

“…One of the technologies that can provide such visualizations is AR because it can combine in real-time digital content created by computers with the real world. Through AR, users can view 2D or 3D virtual objects projected against the real world using the device [22]. The AR will contain 3D animated images such as thumb rules on magnetic fields due to wires, the concept of magnetic force lines, solenoids, and toroids.…”

“…For a quantitative part, a oneshot case study [4] was oriented on reporting the use of two platforms (Tuweb and Tuton) in the tutorial process during Covid-19. It is a research design in which the researcher only performs one treatment that is thought to have had an effect, and then a posttest is held [14]. Meanwhile, the qualitative part optimized an in-depth interview with the participants.…”
