The use of Neuro Emotional Technique with competitive rowers: A case series

Abstract: Introduction: Power has been shown to consistently predict rowing performance, yet traditional methods to improve power may negatively impact performance when coupled with endurance training. Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) has been found to reduce stress and anxiety, which are also known to impair performance. The aim of this prospective case series was to describe how NET was used with competitive rowers, and to report any changes in average power output following the intervention. Clinical Features: Seven e… Show more

“…The small sample size (n=5) in the current study is a limitation, as for investigations with elite competitors of less populated sports such as rowing (Jensen et al 23 ; n=7), biathlon (Hesford et al 20 ; n=2), alpine skiing (Barelle et al 1 ; n=4), and short track speed skating (e. g., Haug et al 19 ; n=5, Hesford et al 21 ; n=6). But our results suggest that 2 ×3 s maximal unilateral isometric CC executed by speed skaters, lead to a significant increase in bilateral power output, in a subsequent exercise performed 5 min later, at least for a few seconds.…”

“…For instance, in the first course of one popular kMMT technique system (TBM), practitioners are taught to use kMMT to identify depression, anxiety, organ-centred problems, blood sugar problems, autonomic nervous system dysregulation, and overall health status [37]. In addition, another technique, called Neuro Emotional Technique 1 (NET), also teaches protocols that use kMMT to assess for emotional stress, blood sugar irregularities, and meridian imbalance [38][39][40][41][42]. Like NET, another widely practiced technique called Touch for Health, also uses kMMT to assess for emotional stress and meridian imbalance, and also for food allergies and the need for nutritional supplementation [43].…”
