“…The severity of a carotid plaque can reflect the severity of CAD to a certain extent. A large number of studies have shown that carotid IMT is an independent risk factor for coronary stenosis, carotid atherosclerosis occurs in parallel with coronary atherosclerosis and CAD severity significantly increases with elevated IMT (2,3,17,18).…”

“…Atherosclerotic changes in superficial carotid arteries and their severity generally reflect systemic atherosclerosis; they are easily detected with high-frequency ultrasound in the early stage of the disease. An artery with an elevated IMT is a marker of systemic and coronary atherosclerosis (2). As a significant factor in the inflammatory process, hs-CRP is a very sensitive indicator of the development of atherosclerosis, which is useful in the diagnosis of CAD and for risk stratification (11).…”

“…14,[20][21][22] However, another study of intima-media thickness divided in tertiles failed to predict CV events in patients with stable angina, thus supporting our findings. 23 Recently, Kablak-Ziembicka et al 24 demonstrated in an observational study of 652 patients with established atherosclerosis that a mean CIMT value ≥ 1.25 mm is associated with a 2.5-fold increased risk of adverse CV events and CIMT quartiles ranged between ≤ 1.02 and ≥ 1.61 mm, which by definition included patients with carotid plaques. To our knowledge, there is only one study that evaluated the prognostic implications of carotid plaque in patients with known CAD concluding that carotid plaque predicts CV events, thus supporting our results.…”

“…Более того, выявление даже субкли-нических стенозов в других артериальных бассейнах связано с ухудшением выживания у больных ИБС [2][3][4], острым нарушением мозгового кровообращения [5] и периферическим атеросклерозом [6]. В то же время изучению социально-психологических особен-ностей больных МФА уделяется мало внимания, в дан-ном направлении стали появляться только первые исследования, в частности, показана взаимосвязь с наличием МФА личностных факторов [7].…”
