“…Because of the low incidence of HH, there has been no prospective study on this condition. However, retrospective studies showed that the results of ART in HH patients treated with HMG were comparable to those in women with tubal factor infertility and unexplained infertility [Ulug et al 2005;Yildirim et al 2010]. …”

“…According to the World Health Organization (WHO), patients with this disorder were defined as Group I [Sungurtekin et al 1995;Ulug et al 2005]. Whatever the underlying cause, HH results in deep infertility.…”

“…Previous studies including HH patients have shown that both the treatment duration and gonadotropin consumption were higher compared with patients with other etiologies of infertility (9, 10). This may be the result of silent ovaries, which need to be activated before follicular response is achieved.…”

“…Significant correlations were found between serum AMH and peak serum estradiol, number of follicles >14-17 mm on hCG day, number of MII oocytes, number of top quality embryos and cumulative gonadotropin dose used. Since IHH patients are potentially fertile and respond very well to exogenous gonadotropins, assessment of ovarian reserve or prediction of COH response is of outmost importance either to predict cycle outcomes or to prevent possible COH associated complications [25]. In this context, the results of the current study are important in two different aspects.…”

“…Anosmia, cleft lip/ cleft palate and/or syndactyly are other findings that may accompany IHH. Patients with this disorder, defined also as Group I according to World Health Organization (WHO Group I), are apparently the exact candidates for ovulation induction with exogenous gonadotropins [23,25]. Ovulation can be successfully induced with small doses of menotropins.…”
