Despite difficulties in reading and writing, some research suggests that dyslexia may be related to higher levels of creativity. However, this pattern is not consistently observed. The current research sought to ascertain whether individuals with clinically diagnosed dyslexia exhibit higher creativity than controls through a meta‐analysis. Fourteen studies that assessed the creativity of 397 individuals with clinically diagnosed dyslexia and 453 controls were reviewed. Random‐effects meta‐analysis revealed an overall non‐significant difference in creativity scores between those with dyslexia and controls. Additionally, method factors such as the type of creativity task and whether intelligence was controlled for, as well as sample‐related factors such as gender, did not explain differences in the dyslexia–creativity relationship. Nonetheless, individuals with dyslexia significantly outperformed controls in creativity scores in adult samples, but not in younger child/adolescent samples. Overall, the current findings provide limited support for the idea that individuals with dyslexia are more creative, and that past evidence of this relationship may be limited to adult samples.

A survey of 710 undergraduates was conducted to assess the probable patterns of utilization of sex-choice technology when it becomes widely available. Ideal family composition was determined along with demographic and attitudinal variables. Results confirmed the overwhelming preference for male children, in general, and male firstborn children, in particular: 85% wanted a firstborn boy, while 73% wanted a secondborn girl. Reasons for the choice reflected both considerable knowledge of advantages accruing to firstborn children and stereotypic expectations regarding sons and daughters. The possible consequences of widespread use of sex choice technology for women's civil rights are discussed.

Šio tyrimo tikslas -ištirti meninio profilio studentų kūrybiškos asmenybės savybių ir gimimo eilės ryšius. Nustatyti, ar skiriasi merginų ir vaikinų, taip pat universiteto ir kolegijos studentų kūrybiškumo įverčiai. Tyrime dalyvavo dviejų meninio profilio aukštųjų mokyklų (universiteto ir kolegijos) I-IV kurso 18-32 metų vaizduojamojo meno krypties studentai. Tyrimo rezultatai atskleidė, kad šioje imtyje: gimimo eilė nebuvo reikšmingas veiksnys; merginų ir vaikinų kūrybiškos asmenybės savybių įverčiai nesiskyrė; kūrybiškos asmenybės savybės -vaizduotės -įverčiai buvo aukštesni universiteto nei kolegijos studentų; kiti kūrybiškos asmenybės savybių įverčiai tarp ugdymo institucijų statistiškai reikšmingai nesiskyrė.Esminiai žodžiai: meninio profilio studentai, kūrybiškumas, gimimo eilė. ĮvadasDešimtmečius nenutrūkstantis globalizacijos procesas gali būti viena iš priežasčių, nulėmusių kūrybiškumo srities tyrimų populiarumą. Daug dėmesio šios srities tyrimuose skiriama kūrybiškai asmenybei, kuri tiriamajame darbe suprantama kaip linkusi rizikuoti, smalsi, pakelianti sudėtingas situacijas ir lakios vaizduotės (Туник, 2003). Remiantis įvairių autorių nuomonėmis (Charyton et al., 2008;Helson, 1996Helson, , 1999Helson, , 2002Ma, 2009;Roy, 1996;Sapranavičiūtė et al., 2010), daugiausia kūrybiškų asmenų yra tarp meno ir mokslo sričių atstovų.
