The Quality and Proportion of Spermatozoa X and Y in Sexed Frozen Semen Separated with Percoll Density Gradient Centrifugation Method on Friesian Holstein Bull

Abstract: Furthermore, the sexing process also reduces the concentration of spermatozoa, including the sexing process using the percoll method. It is because there is a complex process starting from separation through gradient levels, centrifugation, dilution, and freezing. The results of previous studies showed that the concentration of percoll sexing results in frozen Limousine Y cattle semen was 12.125 million/straw (Mahfud et al., 2019) and did not meet the Indonesian national standard of 25 million/ straw.
