The occurrence of Glyceria striata (Lam.) Hitchc. in Europe and the new localities of the species in Poland

Abstract: Glyceria striata (Lam.) Hitchc. is a North American species that has been recorded in most, semi-natural habitats in Europe, e.g. in meadows, bog springs, margins of water bodies. It is circumscribed within two taxa of lower rank: G. striata subsp. striata and G. striata subsp. stricta. Only G. striata subsp. stricta has been reported from Europe. “…Riječ je o sjevernoameričkoj biljci, koja je rasprostranjena duž ovog kontinenta, od Aljaske na sjeveru do Meksika na jugu (Piwowarski & Bartoszek, 2012). U Evropi je još prije 35 godina bila poznata iz Austrije, Francuske, Švajcarske, Ukrajine i Švedske (Holub, 1980), a novija istraživanja pokazuju da se ova vrsta subspontano širi i da je njen areal u Evropi znatno širi te da je prisutna i u Češkoj, Poljskoj, Njemačkoj, Lihtenštajnu, Španiji, Estoniji, Letoniji, Litvaniji, Finskoj, Sloveniji i Italiji (Dančák, 2002;Euro+Med, 2006Piwowarski & Bartoszek, 2012).
