The Occurrence of Blood‐Group Specific Material in the Plasma and Serum of Stored Blood

Abstract: Summary The plasma and serum of stored group A blood were studied for the presence of blood‐group active material. It was found that, over the periods examined, there was an appreciable rise in the A inhibiting activity of both plasma and serum. It is concluded that blood‐group active material from the red cell appears in the serum or plasma with the aging of blood in vitro.
