The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating role of total quality management (TQM) between entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and SME export performance in the manufacturing sector of Pakistan. This study was originated from the fact that only a few studies have examined on how the firm's intangible resources and capabilities such as EO and TQM drive SMEs' export performance. Some questionnaires in Likert scale were used to collect the data and 364 usable responses were received from the owner/managers of exporting SMEs. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was used for the data analysis. The findings reveal significant relationship between EO and TQM with SME export performance. Furthermore, this study found the complementary mediating role of TQM between EO and SME export performance of manufacturing sector of Pakistan. This study has implications for owner/managers of SMEs. The results offer a better understanding regarding EO and TQM implementation to SMEs owner / managers. Thus, owner/managers of SMEs can take better decisions for the implementation of TQM practices. Furthermore, to the best of researcher's knowledge, this study is the first work, which examines Pakistan`s SMEs export performance in association with the TQM as the mediating factor between EO and SME export performance.

This review is aiming to investigate the integration of people, planning and process in a Total quality management (TQM) setting prompting organizational performance and their competitiveness. In order to compete for a good market position, organizations need to implement effective management strategies such as TQM. The term TQM is explained as "managing the entire organization so that it excels in all dimensions of products and services that are important to the customer". However, TQM model goes beyond product, process and service quality. The objective of this review is to develop an understanding of TQM and its possible influence on organizational performance and competitiveness. This review will be looking at entrepreneurial orientation (EO), market orientation (MO), and organizational competitiveness attributes. As quality is a mixture of many interconnected efficiencies that makes the difference at the end. Likewise, quality is an organization's first step towards market competitiveness. EO is an important factor which could lead to various advantages and added value if adequately implemented in the organization with other supportive strategic management initiatives. It is identified that the problem of organizations not accomplishing the anticipated performance through EO and MO is due to the deficiency of organizational inappropriate schemes and worthless practices. In addition, EO as alone is insufficient resource to enhance performance and achieve competitive advantages. In addition, organizational internal resources (resource base view (RBV)) are important for organizational performance. Continuous premium quality leads organizations to avail sustainable competitive position in the market. TQM, EO (internal resources) and MO (external resources) contribute to organizational intangible capabilities that lead organizations to achieve their desired performance and competitiveness. This review will look into and conceptually find why even there are sufficient literature on TQM, EO and MO available, but still the previous research have unable to provide a unambiguous and strategic avenues for practitioners to accept.

The study investigated the impact of high‐involvement work systems (HIWS) on knowledge‐sharing intention (KSI) through the mediation of organizational commitment (OC) and the moderation of workplace allocentrism, particularly in the manufacturing units of small and medium enterprises operating in Pakistan. Data collection involved 328 workers, utilizing self‐administered structured questionnaires translated into Urdu to ensure understanding and inclusivity. SmartPLS software was used to analyze data using the structural equation modeling technique for the examination of complex relationships between multiple variables simultaneously. The findings suggest that the association between HIWS and KSI strengthens among the individuals high in workplace allocentrism and that cultural factors play a significant role in shaping how employees respond to HIWS and engage in knowledge‐sharing behaviors. The study highlights the importance of considering cultural factors in organizational practices and strategies, thus providing novel insights for entrepreneurs to enhance the performance, innovation, and competitiveness of their enterprises through a knowledge‐sharing culture. Overall, study offers valuable contributions to both academia and practice by shedding light on the intricate relationships between HIWS, KSI, OC, and workplace allocentrism.
