“…The determinant factors of glycemic control varied as well based on the evaluation of different factors between studies. However, we noted that the prevalence of poor glycemic control in the two previous studies [ 12 , 14 ] was high regardless of the assessment measure for glycemic control used in each study.…”

“…A recent study from Ethiopia conducted on diabetic patients and defined good glycemic control at HbA1c less than 7% showed that more than one-half of patients (63.8%) had poor glycemic control. Poor glycemic control was significantly associated with the age of 50 years and older, female gender, being single, having high LDL, presence of diabetic peripheral neuropathy, and alcohol intake [ 14 ].…”

Hyperglycemic hyperosmolar non-ketotic syndrome develops slowly rather than suddenly [26]. The blood sugar level in the hyperglycemic hyperosmolar non-ketotic syndrome is greater than or equivalent to 600 mg/dl.…”

“…6 Poor lifestyle habits 6 and inadequate adherence to medications for diabetes were commonly observed. [7][8][9] These behaviors could lead to inadequate glycemic control, 10 contributing to the burden of diabetes such as increased medical cost and increased mortality rates. 11 To effectively manage T2DM and prevent its complications, good self-management behaviors, in which patients actively involve themselves in their own care, need to be further emphasized as an essential role in complementing clinical care.…”
