“…However, the most of these prospective pharmaceutical interventions are still at pre-clinical stages with unsuccessful translation into humans. When it comes to thiamine, there is poor evidence explaining the mechanisms mediating cardioprotection achieved by the use of this vitamin ( Polat et al, 2015 ; Radonjic et al, 2020 ). According to the results of the study of Radonjic et al (2020) , the cardio-protective effect of thiamine was shown through measurements of the value of cardiodynamic parameters, pro-oxidative and antioxidative markers from plasma samples, cardiac activity, and histopathological evaluation, showing that pre-treatment of thiamine hydrochloride before doxorubicin administration could increase myocardial contractility, decrease oxidative stress production, and improve the antioxidant defense system.…”

“…As per our knowledge, this is the first report investigating the lifespan-extension and health-improving effect of HLB01 (Figure 3). Not limited to As the most efficient anthracycline antibiotics used in chemotherapy, Doxo can destroy the cancer cells by blocking the action of the enzyme topoisomerase-II, which prevents the repair of DNA molecules to damage the cell [37]. The senescence-activating effect of Doxo may involve the shortening of telomere length, inhibition of topoisomerases, inducing nucleosome instability, and damaging to DNA [38,39].…”

“…The concentration of prooxidative markers such as superoxide anion radical (O 2 − ), hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ), nitric oxide (NO − ) and the lipid peroxidation measured as thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) was evaluated in plasma samples. In the lysate of erythrocytes, the activity of non-enzymatic antioxidants, such as reduced glutathione (GSH), and the activity of the enzymatic defence system were determined by evaluating the catalase (CAT) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) concentration (Radonjic et al, 2020). Periapical lesions from the roots of the first mandibular right molar of 5 DA and 5 AO rats were dissected.…”
