Producer of fertilizer mandatory to carry out fertilizer effectiveness tests before their products were marketed, because the results of fertilizer effectiveness tests was determined by the Ministry of Agriculture to protect consumers from adverse impacts due to the use of fertilizer. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of NPK compound (15-15-6) fertilizer to improve maize performance. The study was conducted Keling Village, Kepung Subdistrict, Kediri Regency, East Java Province, since January - April 2019. The study used RBD with 6 treatments and 4 replications, namely A = control, B = SFD, C = 300 kg Urea ha−1 + 50 kg SP-36 ha−1 + 200 kg NPK 15-15-6 ha−1, D = 300 kg Urea ha−1 + 50 kg SP-36 ha−1 + 300 kg NPK 15-15-6 ha−1, E = 250 Urea ha−1 + 400 kg NPK 15-15-6 ha−1, and F = 200 Urea ha−1 + 500 kg NPK 15-15-6 ha−1. The results showed that treatment F obtained of 8.35 t.ha−1, R/C-ratio 2,65, RAE value 137.38%, and the profite farming IDR. 21,850,000 per hectare.

ABSTRACTOil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is the most efficient vegetable oil producer. It produces five to seven times more vegetable oil per hectare than the other vegetable oil producing crops. The objective of this research was to study the role of organic and NPK compound fertilizers application to one-year-old oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) on marginal land. The research was conducted at IPB-Cargilll Teaching Farm of Oil Palm, Jonggol, Bogor, West Java from March 2013 to March 2014. The experiment was carried out as factorial experiment in a randomized block design with three replications. The first factor was organic fertilizer consisted of 0, 15, and 30 kg per palm. The second factor was NPK compound fertilizers 15:15:15 consisted of 0, 1.3 and 2.6 kg per palm. The results showed that no interaction effect between organic and NPK compound fertilizers on all of variables observed. Marginal soils in Jonggol required high rate of fertilizers to produce good performance of one-year-old oil palm. Application of 30 kg organic fertilizer per palm or 2.6 kg NPK compound fertilizers 15:15:15 per palm resulted in the highest vegetative growth of one-year-old oil palm on marginal land in Jonggol.Keywords: cow dung, critical nutrient level, slow release fertilizer, Ultisols, vegetative growth

A field experiment was conducted lo learn about the effect of Bokashi and Sunn hemp (Crotalaria juncea L.) on maize production and inorganic fertilizer use efficiency on maize. The experiment was conducted in Jatikerto, Malang; at the altitude of 303 m above sea level, in Alfisol soil type, the average daily temperature ranges 21-33 o C, from June to October 2013. The experiment was conducted as factorial, designed in a randomized block design (RBD). The first factor was dose of inorganic fertilizer (100% ; 75% and 50% of recommendation dose). The second factor was the organic fertilizer (Without organic fertilizer20 t Bokashi/ ha, 20 t Sunn hemp/ha, 10 t Bokashi/ha + 10 t Sunn hemp/ha). The results showed that application of 20 t Bokashi/ha, 20 t Sunn hemp/ha, and combination of 10 t Bokashi/ha + 10 t Sunn hemp/ha, along with the application of inorganic fertilizer by dose of 100% increased the yields of maize for about 41.8%; 47.6% and 54.7% (10.73 t/ha; 11.17 t/ha , and 11.71 t/ha), respectively. The yield and nutrient use efficiency in the treatment dose of 100% inorganic fertilizer did not have any significant difference from the application of 20 t Bokashi /ha, 20 t Sunn hemp/ha, and 10 t Bokashi/ha + 10 t Sunn hemp/ha along with doses of inorganic fertilization 75% and 50%. Therefore, the organic fertilizer of 20 t Bokashi/ ha, 20 t Sunn hemp/ha, and combination of 10 t Bokashi/ha + 10 t Sunn hemp/ha could reduce the need of inorganic fertilizer for about 50%.
