The Effect of Surface Treatment of PET Films on Adhesive Properties

Abstract: In this work we studied the effect of surface treatment of PET films, which are widely used in food packaging, on the adhesion value of ink layers based on polyvinyl chloride. To give high barrier properties to packaging laminates, the films used in their structure are coated with a nanolayer of aluminum oxide (AlOx). However, these films have a disadvantage associated with the low adhesion of adhesive and ink layers to the AlOx nanolayer. To eliminate this disadvantage, aluminium oxide nanolayer is additional… Show more

“…Перспективными упаковочными материалами являются пленки из полиэтилентерефталата (ПЭТФ) с нанослоями из оксидов алюминия (AlO x ) благодаря высоким прочностным свойствам, хорошим барьерным характеристикам, низкой кислородопроницаемости, а также стойкости к процессу стерилизации [9,10]. Электретные свойства этого материала были изучены в работе [9].…”

“…One of the key parameters that determine the print quality is the adhesion of the ink to the printing substrate [14]. The surface tension of the film significantly affects the white ink lay down and uniformity of the layer [15]. Treating the substrate prior to printing increases its surface tension.…”

“…To solve this problem, we have developed an acrylic protective coating (Pr), applied over a layer of aluminum oxide. [7]. The use of a protective coating leads to a significant improvement in the resistance of the PET/AlOx film to mechanical deformation.…”
