Hypertension is one of the biggest causes of morbidity in the world, often referred to as a silent killer. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of Maumere exercise, a non-pharmacological therapy, in reducing blood pressure among hypertensive individuals in Padang City. An experimental research design with a pretest-posttest approach was employed, involving 20 participants aged 25 years and older who had a history of stage 1 hypertension. Blood pressure measurements were obtained using a sphygmomanometer, and the data were analysed using t-tests or regression analysis. The findings demonstrated that Maumere exercise therapy effectively reduced systolic blood pressure by 43.5% and diastolic blood pressure by 48.7%. Additionally, Maumere gymnastic exercises were found to have a positive impact on heart rate control. Regular exercise led to improved cardiovascular adaptation, resulting in better blood pressure control. This study contributes by providing empirical evidence regarding the efficacy of Maumere exercise as a non-pharmacological therapy for reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients. It highlights the significant reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure achieved through four weeks of Maumere gymnastics, supporting its potential as an alternative approach to hypertension management. Future research should consider larger-scale studies with diverse populations, explore the long-term effects of Maumere exercise, and investigate the optimal duration, frequency, and intensity of exercise sessions to develop standardised guidelines for its implementation.

This study aims to determine whether deep breathing relaxation techniques can improve the hemodynamic status of hypertensive patients. This research method uses a cross-sectional design. The results of this study show that the p-value = 0.000 is smaller than the α = 0.05, which means that there is an influence of deep breathing relaxation techniques in improving the hemodynamic status of hypertensive patients. Conclusion The patient's deep breathing relaxation technique increases the patient's oxygen saturation before and after deep breathing relaxation. Hypertension is a health problem in the community and requires specific care attention. The disease has an impact on reducing the quality of life and can be life threatening if not treated early. One of the nonpharmacological interventions of hypertension is Slow-Deep Breathing exercise and isometric hand grips. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Slow-Deep Breathing and isometric hand grips exercise on blood pressure for patients with hypertension. Pre-experiment with one group pretest post-test design was used in this study. Forty respondents were selected using purposive sampling done in Kembaran I Public Health Center working area. Data collected were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney and Wilcoxon test. The result showed that the statistics analysis of p value of systolic and diastolic pressure is < 0,005. There are changes in systolic blood pressure (p value = 0,005) and diastolic blood pressure (p = 0,018). The Wilcoxon analysis showed a decrease in systolic blood pressure (p value = 0,001) and diastolic blood pressure (p value = 0,016). It can be concluded that slow-deep breathing and isometric hand grip exercise are effective in lowering blood pressure of patient with hypertension
