Preservation of local genetic resources through exploration and conservation along with inventory and characterization are efforts to maintain food resources. Optimizing land use is very potential in the development of local genetic resources. Objective of the research was to characterize local mangosteen from Pati and to optimize the land use. The primary data was derived from the mangosteen characterization results. Information for the secondary data was derived from various sources relevant to the research. The data includes: land potential, climatology, and agroecosystems. Characterization was conducted on a cultivar of Gunungsari mangosteen as the parent plant used in this research. Format of the mangosteen description has been arranged in the form of standard blanks. Results of the research showed that the public yards are potential to develop local mangosteen of Gunungsari. Morphological characters of the Gunungsari mangosteen are red petals (44 A Red Group), circular shape p-1, average weight of the fruit ranges 119.22 g-180.53 g, yellowish white aril (NN 155 A yellowish white) and the taste is sweet and slightly sour. The specific characteristics of Gunungsari mangosteen are soft seeds, the aril tastes sweet and slightly sour, fine fibrous textures, delicate aroma, and high production. The residents’ yards in Gunungsari Village are potential for the development of local fruits commodities especially mangosteen. In order to keep up the local genetic resources and to increase the economic value, Gunungsari mangosteen must be registered immediately to acquire the Certificate of Registration of Plant Varieties.

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas konsentrasi dan lama perendaman ekstrak bawang merah terhadap pertumbuhan dan waktu pembungaan stek mawar. Bahan uji menggunakan 45 batang mawar kubis (Rosa centifolia L.) yang diperoleh dari kebun masyarakat di daerah Bringin, Salatiga. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial dengan 3 kali ulangan. Kelompok yang digunakan berdasarkan bahan baku stek, antara lain stek batang atas, tengah dan bawah. Faktor pertama adalah konsentrasi ekstrak bawang merah dengan 5 taraf yaitu kontrol atau konsentrasi ekstrak bawang merah 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100% serta faktor kedua adalah lama perendaman 4 jam, 6 jam dan 8 jam sehingga terdapat 45 unit percobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan konsentrasi ekstrak bawang merah 50% mampu meningkatkan jumlah tunas, jumlah daun dan bobot segar total, perlakuan konsentrasi 75% memacu waktu berbunga serta konsentrasi 100% meningkatkan panjang akar. Lama perendaman ekstrak bawang merah 6 jam mampu meningkatkan panjang akar, sedangkan lama perendaman 8 jam meningkatkan jumlah daun. Konsentrasi ekstrak bawang merah 75% pada lama perendaman 4 jam serta konsentrasi 50% pada lama perendaman 8 jam mampu meningkatkan bobot kering total tanaman.

Robusta coffee plants are cross-pollinated, so the genetic characteristics of the new plant are not the same as the parent if propagation is carried out generatively. One way to overcome this problem is through vegetative propagation. The research aims to determine the effectiveness of organic and inorganic growth regulators to support the growth of robusta coffee cuttings. This research was conducted at the Experimental Station, Campus II, Batanghari University in Pijoan, Jambi from April to August 2022. The research used a completely randomized environmental design. The treatment design is 5 levels of organic and inorganic growth regulators, namely (p0): control, (p1): 50% onion shallot extract, (p2): natrium nitrophenol 0.60 mLL-1, (p3): 75% onion shallot extract, (p4): natrium nitrophenol 0.90 mLL-1. The parameters observed were live cuttings, rooted cuttings, sprouted cuttings, rooted and sprouted cuttings, number of roots, dry weight of roots, air temperature and air humidity. Research data was processed using anova. Further data processing takes the form of orthogonal contrast to compare organic and inorganic growth regulators. A onion shallot extract concentration of 75% is better than a concentration of 50% and a natrium nitrophenol concentration of 0.9 mLL-1 is better than a concentration of 0.6 mLL-1. Treatment with 75% onion shallot extract resulted in 100% growing cuttings, 100% sprouting cuttings, 60.22% rooted cuttings, and 60.22% sprouting and rooting cuttings. Natrium nitrophenol treatment with a concentration of 0.9 mLL-1 resulted in 100% growing cuttings, 100% sprouting cuttings, 65.55% rooted cuttings, and 65.55% sprouting and rooting cuttings. Organic growth regulators from onion shallot extract and inorganic substances from natrium nitrophenol have the same effect in stimulating the growth of robusta coffee cuttings.
