THE EFFECT OF Sauropus androgynus LEAF EXTRACT ON PERFORMANCE, EGG QUALITY AND CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF EGGS

Abstract: ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan telur yang kaya nutrien, tetapi rendah kolesterolnya. Empat puluh delapan ayam petelur strain Dekalb Warren umur 72 minggu dikelompokkan menjadi enam kelompok perlakuan. Satu kelompok, ayam petelur diberi pakan tanpa ekstrak daun katuk ( Sauropus androgynus, EDK) sebagai kontrol, dan lima kelompok lainnya diberi pakan yang mengandung masingmasing 9 g EDK, 18 g EDK, 27 g EDK, 36 g EDK, dan 45 g EDK/kg pakan. Rancangan acak lengkap digunakan dalam penelitian ini… Show more

“…It appears that Moringa leaf and noni fruit may have antinutrition, whch inhibit alanine synthesis or reduce alanine availability. The present study disagrees with the observation of who reported that fermented Sauropus androgynus leaf powder increased glutamic acid, aspartic acid, glysine, histidine, arginine, alanine, proline, tyrosine, valine, leucine, phenylalanine, and lysine of broiler meats but did not increase methionine. Santoso and Fenita (2016) reported that the inclusion of Sauropus androgynus leaf extract increased glutamic acid of egg but no effect on methionine and alanine. Santoso et al (2017a) reported that the inclusion of Sauropus androgynus leaf extract had no effect on methionine and alanine of eggs.…”

“…In recent years, many studies have been carried out on the possibility of enriching eggs with microelements using their organic forms. Santoso and Fenita [16] examined the effect of the addition of katuk (Sauropus androgynus) leaf extract on the production parameters of laying hens and the quality parameters and chemical composition of eggs. Analysis of the results did not show the impact of the used additives on the production parameters of birds.…”
