Abstract: A mosque is a place of worship for Muslims. The mosque's architectural elements include domes (roofs), mihrab, minarets, portals, and decorative ornaments. Elements of mosque architecture can express the identity of a mosque. Minaret often acts as a marker of the mosque's existence on a city scale. This study helps to solve the problem at the minaret of Agung Mosque which costs about (Rp16.000.000.000), located in Yogyakarta city, Indonesia, Sleman street, where its high sixty seven meters from the ground and it consists of fifty floors, where analyze and prove the safety of the minaret dome, replace the dome, repair the fallen parts from middle floors, and calculate the total cost of replacing the dome and repairing fallen parts of the minaret. This study proved that the existing design reinforcement of the dome is totally safe, estimated the total cost of solving the minaret problems which (Rp2, 281,873,633.54). Where the total costs of replacing the dome were (Rp2, 073,135,813), the total costs of fixing the damaged “fallen” parts of the middle floors were (Rp1, 294,762.24), and the total of the unexpected costs were (Rp207, 443,057.59)

The Islamic heritage constitutes a very precious treasure in Algeria, especially the places of worship (mosques), which reflect the symbol of this heritage. They are considered important landmarks in cities through architectural elements such as the dome and the minaret. Minarets are used by the muezzin to invite people to pray; they were previously built near the mosque or inside it, next to the prayer room. Later, they appeared as angular towers of mausoleums. This research is part of an analytical study of the minarets in Algeria during the medieval period (Bani Hamad, Moravid, Zayyanid, Marinid, and Ottoman) which were selected and then classified according to their various typologies (dimensions, forms, designs, etc.), and evolution over time. The main objectives of this work are to search for the forms that determine the typology of the minarets of each period. It also examines the correlation between dimensions and geometric parameters employed in the design conception of these minarets. The research followed a monographic method that relies on field observation and documentation, while including a thorough reading of history. The results show that the constant form of the vertical section of the minaret, with the same dimensions between the top and bottom, represents two-thirds of the main tower of the minarets. We also conclude that the square shape of the horizontal section of the minaret represents two-thirds of the main tower of the minarets, which expresses the most earthquake-resistant form. These dimensions play a pivotal role in enhancing the minaret's visual allure and architectural equilibrium, in addition to their earthquake resistance virtues.

The research relevance is determined by the study of the architectural features of the Buran Minaret and its role in preserving the region’s identity is key to the preservation of historical and cultural heritage in today’s global cultural dynamics. The study aims to analyse the architectural significance of the Buran Minaret in the context of the cultural heritage of the Chui Valley and its influence on the formation of the region’s history. The research involved a comprehensive methodological approach combining archaeological, historical, cultural and sociological methods. The results obtained have shown the uniqueness of the architectural solutions used in the construction of the Buran Minaret. The ornamental relief belts that adorn the minaret’s trunk are technically complex structures of a high level of craftsmanship. The meticulous attention to detail and sophistication of the ornamental motifs emphasise that each element of the minaret’s architecture was created with refinement and care for detail, reflecting the high level of skill and dedication of the ancient builders. The arched niches of the octagonal plinth, decorated with relief brick ornamentation, are also a visual expression of the minaret’s artistic beauty. The preservation of the ornaments on the three belts demonstrates their significance as a historical and cultural heritage. The use of a variety of materials and masonry techniques, including ordinary building bricks, adds authenticity and uniqueness to this architectural monument. The findings also confirmed that the Buran Minaret plays a key role in the Chui Valley on the historical, cultural, religious and tourist levels. Its historical significance is expressed through its connection to different periods of the region, as well as its symbolic significance for culture and religion, attracting thousands of tourists for its historical and architectural significance. The findings have important practical implications for the preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of the region. They broaden the understanding of the architectural and technical achievements of ancient masters, emphasising the need to preserve and restore unique architectural structures such as the Buran Minaret
