Nach einem Überblick über die bekannten Methoden der Monoglycerid‐Synthese wird über Versuche, die die Herstellung der Allylester verschiedener Fettsäuren, ihre Hydroxylierung mit Natriumchlorat und Osmiumtetroxyd als Katalysator sowie die Sulfatierung der erhaltenen Monoglyceride betreffen, berichtet. Anschließend folgt die Beschreibung der Synthese von Estersulfonaten durch Umsetzung der bei der Sulfonierung des Allylalkohols gebildeten 1,2‐Dihydroxypropan‐3‐sulfonsäure mit Fettsäurechloriden.
