This article describes the effects of displacement on sociospatial bonds, associated with the change of residential environment in displaced persons from the city of Chaitén, as a result of the eruption of the volcano of the same name. 144 questionnaires were applied to men and women who currently live in different towns in the provinces of Llanquihue and Palena. Levels of place attachment and place identity were measured relative to its past and present neighborhood; sense of community, civic participation and Residential Satisfaction, on scales of current city and neighborhood.
