Primary students' math literacy is still inadequate. This is due to the limited number of problems based on math literacy, while studies analyzing math literacy require high-order thinking skills (HOTS). This study aims to develop instruments and analyze primary students' math literacy by reviewing high order thinking (HOTS). The study participants were 30 fifth-grade primary school students by grouping students into three HOTS levels: low, medium, and high. The study method uses a mixed-method (quantitative and qualitative) with an explanatory sequential design. The research instrument is an initial math literacy test (ML-T) that focuses on content, context, process, and level. Data analysis used descriptive statistics. The results of the study resulted in 15 ML-T which had been declared valid and reliable, divided into 6 items at levels 1-2 (easy), 5 items at levels 3-4 (enough), and 4 items at levels 5-6 (hard). The results of another study show that the success of primary students' math literacy depends on the level of ML-T problems and students' HOTS abilities. Higher ML-T levels tend to be completed with math literacy in the perspective of higher HOTS levels of students. This study's implication is to contribute to developing authentic math literacy instruments and analyzing the success of primary students' math literacy by looking at the HOTS level.

This study is being conducted to identify the learning disabilities in math literacy at SMPN 3 Kalipucang kelas VIII during the second semester of the 2023–2024 school year. The method that is used is a qualitative approach called Didactical Design Research. Study focus is on three study subjects: students with weak mathematical skills (S1), students with strong mathematical skills (S2), and students with weak mathematical skills (S3). The results of the study indicate that students in S1 experience difficulties learning epistemological obstacles, students in S2 experience difficulties learning both didactic and epistemological obstacles, and students in S3 experience difficulties learning ontogenic, didactic, and epistemological obstacles. In order to overcome this obstacle, researchers have developed learning materials that are oriented toward numerical literacy with the goal of raising student achievement standards Researchers used Learning Obstacle Identification as a basis to create a Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) that focuses on literacy numeration of material circles.

The purpose of this study was to determine the learning barriers experienced by students in learning mathematics subject matter of multiples and factors of a number. Learning difficulties experienced by students when in the learning process are caused by gaps or distances between expected academic achievement and actual academic achievement. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods by using data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation as well as using descriptive analysis methods. With class IV A participants totaling 27 students. The results showed that there were learning barriers experienced by Class IV A in mathematics subject matter of multiples and factors of a number. Forms of learning barriers include; 1) lack of readiness of students in learning; 2) difficulty in solving questions; 3) limited understanding of students' concepts. Based on the results of research conducted, learning barriers were found to be found in ontogeny barriers as many as 5 students, didactic barriers as many as 2 students, and epistemological barriers as many as 2 students. By knowing the learning barriers experienced by students in learning the teacher can minimize student learning barriers so that there is no gap between academic achievement and the academic achievement to be achieved.
