O objetivo deste artigo é o de investigar a associação existente entre a não religiosidade e o dinamismo econômico dos municípios brasileiros em 2000 e 2010, mensurando o percentual da população de cada município sem religiosidade e sua distribuição espacial, além de verificar a existência ou não de correlação entre a não religiosidade e a renda per capita. Para a obtenção dos resultados, utilizou-se dados do Censo Demográfico de 2000 e de 2010, referentes ao percentual da população sem religiosidade, renda média e nível de escolaridade para todos os municípios brasileiros. Na investigação acerca dos efeitos existentes, estimou-se modelos econométricos espaciais. Os resultados mostram que a não religiosidade aumentou ao longo dos anos, identificando que quanto maior a renda média dos municípios brasileiros, maior é seu nível de não religiosidade. ABSTRACT The objective of this article is to investigate the association between non - religiosity and the economic dynamism of Brazilian municipalities in 2000 and 2010, measuring the percentage of the population of each municipality without religiosity and its spatial distribution, besides verifying the existence or Not of correlation between non-religiosity and per capita income. To obtain the results, we used data from the Demographic Census of 2000 and 2010, referring to the percentage of the population without religion, average income and level of education for all Brazilian municipalities. In the investigation of the existing effects, spatial econometric models were estimated. The results show that non-religiosity has increased over the years, identifying that the higher the average income of Brazilian municipalities, the higher is their level of non-religiosity.
