“…A taxa média de tentativa de suicídio por intoxicações exógenas no período estudado de 27,3 tentativas/ano pode ser considerada alta, levando-se em conta que foram avaliadas somente as tentativas de suicídio por agentes tóxicos, os quais, geralmente, constituem a terceira causa de suicídio no Brasil. Em outros municípios brasileiros, foram encontradas taxas médias de tentativa de suicídio de 3,45 e 11,4 por 100.000 habitantes, considerando todos os métodos de tentativas de suicídios nos municípios de Jequié (Bahia) 19 e de Santa Maria de Jetibá (Espírito Santo) 20 , respectivamente. Estudo realizado em países europeus relata que as taxas médias de tentativa de suicídio por vários métodos entre idosos chegaram a 61,4/100.000 habitantes 21 .…”
