Background: The research focuses on the perception and implications of telework during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Czech Republic. Goal: The aim of the paper is to prove the validity of the already existing theoretical model (revealed in Romanian research before COVID-19) for the Czech situation during COVID-19 and draw managerial conclusions. Methods and data: Quantitative primary data were collected via questionnaires and analysed using structural equation modelling, evaluating cause-effect relationships between latent variables in two steps: the structural model (showing the latent constructs and paths between them) and the outer model (displaying the relationships between each latent construct and the indicators defining it). Results: 10 latent variables were defined, and relationships among them were identified. 13 hypotheses were verified, out of which 7 were accepted while the remaining were denied. Concerning the similarities with the previous research, current research accepted 2 hypotheses alongside the previous one, while one hypothesis was accepted only in the Romanian research. Conclusion: Model relevancy was proved. The research contributed to formulating implications for Central European audiences extending present-day literature review findings. Based on the hypotheses testing, autonomy and homonomy in telework should not be understood as contrary but complementary phenomena; managers should support both. Cultivated should be positive emotions about telework because they contribute to work-life balance and positively affect the intentions to work from home. Work-life balance is positively related to the positive perception of the social implications of telework.

In the wake of the pandemic, telework became relevant to more employees than before. Researchers suggest both positive and negative impact of telework on employees. The study examines office workers’ self-reports on the impact of teleworking on their subjective well-being, health, and productivity. Data (N = 475) were collected from teleworkers in Lithuania during the COVID-19 pandemic. Findings indicate that teleworking during the pandemic had a negative impact on the well-being (in work-life balance aspect) and health (mostly in terms of mental exhaustion) of office workers, while work performance suffered relatively less. Also, this study revealed three original observations. First, well-being evaluations of teleworkers were found to be most correlated with close relationships and age. Second, teleworkers who live with their parents have the most positive evaluations of teleworking in all three areas: well-being, health, and productivity. And third, the overlap between family and work when working from home increases the likelihood that women and young workers will be less concerned about healthy living habits. This study contributes to a better understanding of the factors teleworkers face when working at home and can help companies improve their hybrid working strategies.

“…Para Baranov et al (2022) en los últimos años, el avance de la tecnología digital ha permitido aumentar la velocidad y procesamiento de la información con la consecuente producción de nuevos retos y desafíos; esto, sumado a la reciente situación mundial de pandemia del COVID-19, ha ocasionado según Raišienė et al (2021) que los países vieran afectados sus planteles educativos de todos los niveles, así en el año 2020 la mayoría de ellos, tuvo que cerrar las instalaciones escolares afectando al 91% de los estudiantes a nivel mundial dejando sin servicio educativo aproximadamente 1600 millones, de los cuales, 101 millones de niños y jóvenes se vieron agraviados en el logro de las competencias de escritura y lectura, entre otras competencias; en este contexto, es importante señalar que 255 millones de empleos a tiempo completo se perdieron, esto, incidió en el poder adquisitivo de las familias y se les dificultó la adquisición de equipos tecnológicos para encarar con éxito los modelos educativos sustentados en las (TIC) Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación (UN, 2022; UNESCO, 2019).…”

El objetivo consistió en analizar las evidencias científicas que explican la utilización de las competencias digitales en el fortalecimiento de los procesos pedagógicos. La metodología obedeció a un diseño documental; a partir de ello, se analizaron los aportes ubicados en los principales bancos de publicaciones científicas: Google Schoolar, Scopus, Ebsco y Scielo, los cuales, permitieron integrar diferentes conceptos vinculados a las competencias digitales, alfabetización informática, comunicación y colaboración, creación de contenidos digitales, seguridad y resolución de problemas. Se excluyeron trabajos académicos tales como ensayos, tesis de grados; así como también libros de texto. En cuanto a la muestra, se consideró de tipo teórica, y se conformó por 51 artículos de los últimos 5 años y relacionados al contexto educativo. Entre los principales resultados destaca se aprecia el auge vertiginoso de las tecnologías de información y comunicación, de modo que, es indispensable para los docentes desarrollar competencias digitales en función de encarar los desafíos que impone llevar a cabo los procesos pedagógicos de manera virtual. Entre las principales conclusiones destaca que la utilización de las competencias digitales en el fortalecimiento de los procesos pedagógicos permite la reconfiguración de la enseñanza pasando de espacios tradicionales a contextos digitales para darle consecución a los procesos educativos, por lo cual, es importante tomar conciencia de la relevancia de la alfabetización digital , así como de la comunicación y colaboración, el desarrollo y creación de contenidos digitales, la seguridad informática y la resolución de problemas en contextos digitales
