“…Restricted by the 2-fold axis of symmetry of the complex, the arrangement of the two bonded enrofloxacinato ligands is such that the two carboxylato [23,25,30]. The 1,10-phenanthroline ligand is co-planar with the manganese atom.…”

“…Manganese-containing compounds with pharmacological use include the anticancer agent SC-52608 and the MRI contrast agent Teslascan [23]. The study of the biological properties of manganese complexes gains increasing interest since such complexes with diverse ligands have shown antibacterial [24][25][26], anticancer [27][28][29] and antifungal [30,31] activities. In the literature, manganese complexes with the quinolones sarafloxacin, pipemidic acid, ciprofloxacin and lomefloxacin showing that 2-D polymeric structures have been isolated and structurally characterized, mainly in the co-existence of dicarboxylate ligands [32][33][34].…”

“…The FT-IR spectra of ligand exhibits a strong band of the 12,13 The spectrum of free ligand shows strong band in 1328 and 1475 cm -1 , assigned to the C-O and C-N stretching of the ligand. However, after complexation of C-O and C-N group via oxygen and nitrogen to the cobalt ion, these bands were observed at the region of 1317 and 1456 cm -1 (Figure 1).…”

“…[8][9][10] However, reports on the preparation and characterization of transition metal complexes with bidentate Schiff base ligand derived from furfurylamine are very rare. [11][12][13] We describe here the synthesis of new mononuclear complex of Co(III) containing Schiff base ligand obtained from furfurylamine and 5-bromosalisylaldehyde (Scheme 1).…”
Cobalt(III) complex [CoL 3 ], where L=(5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzyl-2-furylmethyl)imine, has been synthesized by reacting cobalt(II) nitrate with L. The complex has been characterized by elemental analysis and FT-IR spectroscopy. The crystal structure of [CoL 3 ] was determined by X-ray crystallography from single crystal data. It crystallizes in the triclinic space group 1 P with unit cell parameters: a=9.6644(10) Å, b=11.5657(11) Å, c= 16.5809(17) Å, α=102.833(4)°, β=102.999(3)°, γ=105.480(3)°, V=1659.9(3) Å 3 and Z=2. Thermal decomposition of [CoL 3 ] was studied by thermogravimetry in order to evaluate its thermal stability and thermal decomposition pathways.
“…Manganese ions, an indispensable trace element in animal health growth, mostly exist in the various metal protein and metal enzymes, closely related with the biochemical metabolism in animals and nutritional status of animals [5,6]. Manganese complexes exhibit biological interest showing antibacterial [7], anticancer [8] and antifungal [9] activity. 8-hq and its derivatives are well-known molecules because of their ability for the complexation of many primary transition and rare-earth metal ions [10] and are used as the emitting elements in electroluminescent devices [11].…”
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
