“…The gamma crystallographic modification of Al 2 O 3 (g-Al 2 O 3 , cubic symmetry) was also theoretically studied for the doping of 13 trivalent elements (Cr, Ga, Fe, Lu, Yb, Er, Y, Tb, Gd, Eu, Sm, Nd, and La) 44 and various transition metal ions (Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn) 45 as well as Ce 46 and Ga. 47 The most comprehensive study of the mentioned ones is the study of Maglia et al 44 The calculations have been carried out using Al 64 O 96 defect spinel supercells containing 8 aluminium vacancies.
