“…LiPON has a high chemical resistivity allowing for longer contact time with lithium metal. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, In our research, it is found that 30 nm of LiPON is the critical thickness for protecting a solid polymer electrolyte consisting of poly(propylene carbonate) and poly(ethylene oxide) in a bilayered electrolyte system . It has also been shown that LiPON acts as a protective layer when sputtered onto a La 2/3–x Li 3 x TiO 3 (LLTO) support, enhancing the chemical stability against lithium metal …”

“…The stability of LiPON films with lithium has remained a hot point for discussion and research as inconsistent results are reported by different groups. The general consensus is that LiPON does not react with lithium metal, and the reported values of electrochemical stability window for LiPON are up to 5.5 V (vs Li/Li+). ,,,,,,,,,− Recently, however, an in situ XPS study on the stability of the LiPON/lithium interfaces reveals that there are reactions that occur between LiPON and lithium metal. Results of this study show that exposure to metallic lithium breaks down the LiPON into smaller species such as Li 3 PO 4 , Li 3 P, Li 3 N, and Li 2 O, leading to the disruption of the network structure of the LiPON glass .…”

“…The partial pressure of the N 2 gas plays an important role since it determines the amount N that can be incorporated in the LiPON, leading to variation of the impedance. [ 49 , 50 ] Figure 5e shows the change in impedance with the partial pressure of N 2 gas. [ 49 ] The impedance value of the LiPON thin film decreases with an increase in N 2 partial pressure.…”
