The aim of this study is a present of a simple solvothermal synthesis approach to preparation of Cu-based magnetic metal organic framework (MMOF) and subsequently its application as sorbent for ultrasound assisted magnetic solid phase extraction (UAMSPE) of ampicillin (AMP) from cow milk samples prior to high performance liquid chromatography-Ultraviolet (HPLC-UV) determination. Characteristics of prepared MMOF were fully investigated by different techniques which showed the exclusive properties of proposed sorbent in terms of proper functionality, desirable magnetic property and also high specific surface area. Different influential factors on extraction recovery including sorbent dosage, ultrasonic time, washing solvent volume and eluent solvent volume were assessed using central composite design (CCD) based response surface methodology (RSM) as an operative and powerful optimization tool. This is the first report for determination of AMP using MMOF. The proposed method addressed some drawbacks of other methods and sorbents for determination of AMP. The presented method decreases the extraction time (4 min) and also enhances adsorption capacity (250 mg/g). Moreover, the magnetic property of presented sorbent (15 emu/g) accelerates the extraction process which does not need filtration, centrifuge and precipitation procedures. Under the optimized conditions, the proposed method is applicable for linear range of 1.0–5000.0 μg/L with detection limit of 0.29 μg/L, satisfactory recoveries (≥95.0%) and acceptable repeatability (RSD less than 4.0%). The present study indicates highly promising perspectives of MMOF for highly effective analysis of AMP in complicated matrices.

In this research, sponge‐activated carbon was applied as an effective adsorbent for simultaneous dispersive solid ultrasound‐assisted microextraction followed by high‐performance liquid chromatography for the preconcentration and determination of losartan (LOS) and chlordiazepoxide (CDP) drugs from urine and plasma samples. The synthesized adsorbent was characterized using scanning electron microscopy and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller techniques. To investigate the effects of different parameters, such as adsorbent dosage, pH, adsorption time, and volume of extraction solvent on the extraction process of LOS and CDP, a central composite design (CCD)‐based response surface methodology was applied. Using a CCD, the optimized factors achieved an adsorption time of 13 min, an adsorbent dosage of 14 mg, an extraction solvent (methanol) of 1.3 mL, and pH = 4.7 under the desirability function. Under the optimized conditions, the presented method showed a wide linear range of 0.005–10.0 μg/mL with a limit of detections of 0.0011 and 0.0018 μg/mL for LOS and CDP, respectively. Moreover, the applied method had relative standard deviations of 4.7% and 5.3% for LOS and CDP, respectively.

In this work, core/shell magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer nanoparticles were synthesized for extraction and pre‐concentration of valsartan from different samples and then it was measured with high‐performance liquid chromatography. For preparation of molecularly imprinted polymer nanoparticles, Fe3O4 nanoparticles were coated with tetraethyl orthosilicate and then functionalized with 3‐(trimethoxysilyl) propyl methacrylate. In the next step, molecularly imprinted polymer nanoparticles were synthesized under reflux and distillation conditions via polymerization of methacrylic acid, valsartan (as a template), azobisisobutyronitrile and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as cross linking. The properties of molecularly imprinted polymer nanoparticle were investigated by FTIR spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy, and X‐ray diffraction. Box‐Behnken design with the aid of desirability function was used for optimizing the effect of variables such as the amounts of molecularly imprinted polymer nanoparticles, time of sonication, pH, and volume of methanol on the extraction percentage of valsartan. According to the obtained results, the affecting variables extraction condition were set as 10 mg of adsorbent, 16 min for sonication, pH = 5.5 and 0.6 mL methanol. The obtained linear response (r2 > 0.995) was in the range of 0.005–10 µg/mL with detection limit 0.0012 µg/mLand extraction recovery was in the range of 92–95% with standard deviation less than 6% (n = 3).
