“…As shown in Figure a, all the diffraction peaks in the XRD pattern, which are in close agreement with the reported data, can be readily indexed to an orthorhombic phase of Cu 3 BiS 3 (JCPDS card No. 43–1479) . No evidence of other impurities such as CuS and Bi 2 S 3 was observed, which indicates that pure Cu 3 BiS 3 can be obtained under the current synthesis conditions.…”

“…However, the progress of chemical methods suitable for the synthesis of a ternary Cu 3 BiS 3 still remains a major challenge. The wide range of techniques that have been employed to prepare Cu 3 BiS 3 semiconductor material had been reviewed with the hope of distinguishing new [43,57]; nanosheets (c) [42]; nanorods (d, e) [37,47]; dendrites (f) [56]; flower-like hierarchical (g) [38]; corallike (h) [60]; bent-like nanorods (i) [39]; spherical nanoparticles (j) [55]; nanoneedle-like (k) [29] and 3D flower-like ball (l) [45] morphologies of Cu 3 BiS 3 paths for productive research based on the present author's work.…”

“…Therefore, the solvothermal method is suitable for the synthesis of novel nanomaterials with good crystallinity. First time, in 2012 Yan et al [37] reported a solvothermal route to synthesize good-quality Cu 3 BiS 3 nanoparticles at 180°C for 20 h in a Teflon-lined autoclave containing Cu(NO 3 ) 2 Á3H 2 O (2.42 g), Bi(NO 3 ) 3 Á5H 2 O (0.97 g), and thiourea (1.52 g) dissolved in 25 ml of ethylene glycol (EG). The XRD pattern indicated the phase purity of Cu 3 BiS 3 with crystalline grains of *40 nm.…”

“…Several researchers reported nanoparticles similar to 1D-SNF in structure, synthesis or superhydrophobic behaviour [102][103][104][105][106][107]. However, either the existence of one-dimensional particles is not discussed, no or ambiguous analytical data are provided or the true onedimensional character of the product remains unclear.…”
