“…Prostaglandins are involved in normal physiological functions and they are involved with tumour cell growth while overexpressing . Inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis is the primary target of several nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs, and cyclooxygenase (COX) is an essential enzyme in prostaglandin formation.…”

“…Inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis is the primary target of several nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs, and cyclooxygenase (COX) is an essential enzyme in prostaglandin formation. COX‐2 is an inducible form of the enzyme that is usually not expressed in normal tissue . COX‐2 receptor overexpression increases in the production of mutagens, which further causes DNA damage as tumour initiators (prostaglandin formation).…”

“…The MCF‐7 cancer cells were treated with doxorubicinin in the same concentration range and used as a control, which showed a high proliferation activity depending on the dose. The Mn(II) complex showed the lowest IC 50 value among all the complexes of 9.2 μg/mL, which was more effective against the breast cancer cell line than free ligand HL itself (Table ) . Another comparison of the cytotoxic activities with a novel Schiff base ligand H 2 l (made from the condensation of 2,6‐diaminopyridine and o ‐benzoylbenzoic acid in 1:2 ratio) showed that H 2 l had no antibreast cancer activity but HL had with the IC 50 of 58 μg/mL, which means the valuable cytotoxic activity of ferrocene‐based Schiff base ligand HL compared to other Schiff base ligands…”

“…Piano-stool complexes have applications in catalysis, supramolecular assemblies, molecular devices and have shown antiviral, antibiotic and anticancer activities [1,2]. Three-legged piano stool complexes of Ru possess a pseudo octahedral geometry at the ruthenium atom arene ligand occupying three coordinating sites (the seat) with three other ligands.…”
