“…In this work, we firstly observe the intense red afterglow luminescence by co-doping Zr 4þ in SnO 2 :Sm 3þ . The Zr 4þ plays very important role on the occurrence of afterglow luminescence like the Dy 3þ in famous SrAl 2 O 4 :Eu 2þ ,Dy 3þ afterglow phosphor [8,9]. According to the results, we give a feasible interpretation for our observation and the important role of Zr 4þ on the afterglow luminescence of SnO 2 :Sm 3þ ,Zr 4þ is investigated in detail.…”
