Syntheses, Structures and Catalytic Properties of Cobalt(II) and Silver(I) Coordination Polymers Based on Flexible Bis(2-methyl benzimidazole) and Dicarboxylic Acids

Abstract: Two coordination polymers formulated as [Co 2 (2,6-ndc) 2 (L)] n (1) and [Ag(L)(1,4-Hndc)] n (2) (L = 1, 1 0 -(1,4-butanediyl)bis(2-methylbenzimidazole), 2,6-H 2 ndc = 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, 1,4-H 2 ndc = 1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid) were synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by IR, elemental analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The structural analysis reveals that complex 1 exhibits an unprecedented 3D framework with threefold interpenetrating xah topology. Com… Show more

“…However, the MOCPs based on aromatic dicarboxylate have been extensively investigated in the past decades due to their strong coordination capability, large conjugated-system and the possibility of offering new functional materials [12][13][14][15]. The 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid (2,6-H 2 ndc) and 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid (1,4-H 2 bdc) are typical aromatic dicarboxylic acids, which have attracted tremendous attention in constructing MOCFs with elegant architectures and desired properties, and they can be attributed to their various coordinating modes, high symmetry and structural rigidity [16].…”
