Synergistic effect of BAP and GA3 on in vitro flowering of Guizotia abyssinica Cass.-A multipurpose oil crop

Abstract: Apical and axillary buds of Guizotia abyssinica Cass., isolated from seedlings raised in vitro, were cultured. High frequency of shoot regeneration was achieved on MS medium with BAP (1 mgl(-1)). Effect of BAP, Kn and GA3 applied successively in culture on shoot regeneration and flower bud formation has been studied. The shoots differentiated in cultures elongated on this medium.
