“…Additionally, during the production of industrial orange juice only half of the fresh weight of orange is transformed into juice and the 50% remaining (228.150 tons) consists of pulp, peel and seeds (Rezzadori et al 2012). Approximately 95% of these agro-industrial wastes are made from peels (orange and lemon peel residues) generating a serious disposal problem which implies the use of extensive economic and energy resources, in addition to risk increase of air, water and soil pollution because of the pollution (Ortiz et al 2020).
