Survey on parameter optimization of mobile communication band low noise amplifier design

Abstract: A comparative study on recent works on low noise amplifiers (LNAs) designed to be operated at mobile communication band is performed in this article. Here, specifications of different generations of mobile communication are listed, which are considered to classify recent works on LNAs. Even though gain and noise figure (NF) are the primary parameters of LNA; other parameters like power, linearity, bandwidth, and area also get importance. Due to this, optimization techniques handpicked for all those parameters … Show more

“…Calculation of the linear values of gain, NF, and IIP3 are explained in Roobert and Rani. 1 As organized in Table 5, the proposed design achieves higher FoM I than the state-of-the-art LNAs. In FoM II calculation, reference 14 secures the first place, and the proposed design comes next.…”

“…Since mobile phones are battery-powered devices, the power consumption of the device is required to be as lower as possible. The drain current of the N 2 transistor is expressed as in (1). In addition, the LNA circuit is designed to amplify the signals of 0.9 and 2.3 GHz of dual frequency.…”

“…Chances to improve the PP 16 (17) Increase in few DPs improves the BS probability. The probability for the BS by increasing the DP is calculated from (18). P BS DP ↑ = Chances to improve the PP by increasing DP 8 (18) Even though the reduction in DP reduces the required footprint area, the PP has to be saved.…”
