The challenges of architectural descriptions (AD), processes and practices have become increasingly important for enterprise information system and software developers. As the development and efficient usage of different architectures are highly dependent on the quality of their documentation, there is an evident need for practical means for AD evaluation. In this paper, we introduce a question framework for AD quality evaluation. The framework was developed in a joint study with industry and validated by the industry experts. This framework can be used as a practical tool for evaluating and further developing the quality of the AD within organisations.

Enterprise architecture (EA) projects require analyzing and designing across the whole enterprise and its environment. Enterprise architects, therefore, frequently develop enterprise models that span from the markets in which the organization operates down to the implementation of the IT systems that support its operations. In this paper, we present SEAM for EA: a method for defining an enterprise model in which all the systems are systematically represented with the same modeling ontology. We base our modeling ontology on the foundation modeling concepts defined in Part 2 of ISO/ITU Standard ''Reference Model of Open Distributed Processing'' (RM-ODP). This work has two contributions to enterprise architecture: the SEAM for EA method itself and the use of Part 2 of the RM-ODP standard as a modeling ontology.

In this paper we propose an approach for the integration of functional models with non-functional models in the context of model-driven e-service development. Starting from the observation that current approaches to modeldriven development have a strong focus on functionality, we argue the necessity of including non-functional aspects, as early as possible in the service design process, from the architectural (computational independent) level through all MDA layers. Furthermore, we distinguish between two modelling spaces (orthogonal to the MDA view), the design space and the analysis space, which could be integrated by means of model transformations. Thus, relating the analysis results to the original design models can be achieved by following a sequence of steps that entail horizontal model-to-model transformations from the design space to the analysis space, vertical model-to-model transformations (within and between the MDA layers) and proprietary analysis techniques that are used for the derivation of required (quantitative) properties. This provides a framework for incorporating nonfunctional analysis into methodological support for eservice development.
