TQM is one of the essential factors in organizational activities. This research aims to determine how TQM elements and organizational culture can lead to operational performance in a mineral water manufacturer in Pasuruan, East Java, Indonesia. Aside from that, researchers also measure how TQM elements, organizational culture, and operational performance can affect corporate performance. The respondents are 50 people from staff, suppliers, and consumers of the manufacturer. The method used in this research is a quantitative method that uses path analysis. The results showed that there is a significant impact between soft TQM elements towards operational performance. The results also showed a significant effect between hard TQM elements, organizational culture, and operational performance towards corporate performance. This research differs from other studies because the model analysis correlates organizational culture with TQM elements in a mineral water company.

RESUMO O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar se combinações de fatores da Cultura Organizacional (CO) e dos Traços da Personalidade de gestores de compras e vendas são relevantes para explicar a colaboração na rede de suprimentos (CRS). Utilizaram-se como referenciais teóricos: Behavioral Operations Management (BOM), Comportamento Organizacional e Rede de Suprimentos (RS). Aplicou-se questionário eletrônico, autoadministrado e baseado em instrumentos difundidos na literatura. A análise foi feita pela Qualitative Comparative Analysis com condições dicotomizadas. A CRS com fornecedores apresentou diferentes associações com os construtos comportamentais quando comparados com a CRS com clientes, evidenciando que há diferenças comportamentais entre gestores de compras e de vendas. A qualificação da CRS sugere que as exigências comportamentais para a contratação de gestores de compras e de vendas são diferentes, assim como as relações com os clientes são prioritárias dentro da organização.

PurposeIn the modern business world, the main focus of the organizations is to improve the quality of the products and minimize the wastage of raw material. Keeping in view the green theory and improve the efficiency of the organization, the focus of the current study is to investigate the relationship between total quality management (TQM) and green innovation (GI), and examine how TQM practices can facilitate firms to achieve GI objectives. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is also an important factor for organizations, and this study also focuses on the mediating role of CSR between the relationship of TQM and GI.Design/methodology/approachThis is an empirical study. Data were gathered from the top management of 355 SMEs working in Pakistan through a questionnaire survey; the PLS-SEM approach was used to analyse the data.FindingsResults of the study show that TQM has significant impacts on two aspects of GI namely green product innovation and green process innovation. Moreover, results also reveal that CSR partially mediates the relationship between TQM and GI.Research limitations/implicationsThis study is limited to manufacturing SMEs and future research should test this model on non-manufacturing sector too. The findings of the study provide significant roadmap to the management of small and medium-sized manufacturing firms that how they can reduce wastage and improve the product and process innovation in their organizations through TQM and CSR.Originality/valueThis study contributes to bridging research gaps in the literature and advances how TQM, directly and indirectly, help firms improve green innovation via mediating roles of CSR.
