Superdotação e seus mitos

Abstract

Vários estudos têm destacado algumas ideias equivocadas que perpassam o tema das altas habilidades / superdotação, influenciando diretamente na educação dos indivíduos talentosos. Assim, o objetivo geral deste estudo é realizar uma investigação a respeito dos mitos que ainda perpassam o tema das altas habilidades / superdotação na atualidade, estabelecendo um paralelo com a evolução das leis e políticas públicas voltadas para o atendimento aos superdotados no Brasil. As pesquisas analisadas indicam que somente as leis não são suficientes para determinar uma educação efetiva aos alunos superdotados se não houver uma divulgação esclarecedora do tema. A análise crítica dos estudos abordados poderá favorecer a realização de novas pesquisas sobre a forma como a superdotação tem sido entendida pela sociedade. Além disso, os questionamentos suscitados poderão auxiliar a elaboração e aprimoramento de programas voltados para os indivíduos superdotados e para o meio no qual estão inseridos.
