Abstract:Subsea rigid jumpers which are used to connect flowlines and risers to other subsea structures are inherently susceptible to vibration because they must be flexible enough to accommodate translation of the flowline, installation tolerances and settlement of pipeline end terminations (PLETs.) In locations where there are bottom currents, the jumpers can be subjected to vortex induced vibrations. When internal flow rates are high, they are susceptible to flow induced vibration, and they may also be excited by sl… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
