Study on Flow Units and Residual Oil Distribution of Lower S2 Formation in Wen-X Fault Block, Wenliu Oilfield

Abstract: Flow units are divided into E,G and P types for the Lower S2reservoir of Wen-X fault block in the Wenliu Oilfield, which are identificated based on six parameters including porosity, permeability, sandstone thickness, effective thickness, formation conductivity and flow index. A 3-D model for the flow units is established by sequential gaussian stochastic simulation approach. It is believed that type- E flow units are well exploited, with the distribution of the remaining oils related to fault as a barrier;typ… Show more

“…At present, research on enriched remaining oil mainly focuses on the distribution characteristics and influencing factors of enriched remaining oil after displacement (Xia et al, 2010, 2021; Tang et al, 2012; Fang et al, 2019; Wang et al, 2020; Zhao, 2021; Jiang et al, 2022), the recovery method of enriched remaining oil (Chen et al, 2013; Liu et al, 2022), and the remaining oil storage mechanism (Dai and Lin, 2020; Song et al, 2020; Wolf et al, 2020). Wang and Ye (2013) studied the distribution law of remaining oil after polymer flooding and proposed five remaining oil enrichment areas after polymer flooding.…”
