Room-temperature magneto-electro-reflectance experiments near the fundamental edge of germanium have been performed in both the crossed and parallel-field configuration, using a "dry" field-effect system to achieve zero-to-peak modulation of the electric field.The results show that the E I / H spectra can be described in terms of photon-assisted tunneling a t each of the Landau levels, althoughthe interpretationof the data is not straightforward due to the strong nonuniformity of the electric field. For E 1 H, the period of the Landau levels is smaller than in the E 11 H case and there is evidence that quantization effects are absent in the region of high electric field immediately below the surface. The results suggest that the technique described here may be a convenient tool to investigate magneto-electro-effects.Nous avons fait des experiments de magnkto-klectro-rkflectivitb b temperature ambiante dans les deux configurations de champs parallels et perpendiculaires; on a employe la technique de l'effet de champ b sec pour ohtenir la modulation du champ Blectrique. Les rksultats montrent que les spectres h E 11 H peuvent &re expliquks comme un ,,photonassisted-tunneling" a chaque niveau de Landau ; cependant l'interprktation est rendn difficile par la drastique nonuniformite du champ Blectrique. Dans le cas E H, la pkriode des niveaux de Landau est mineure que pour E I[ H ; en plus, on est amen6 ZL croire que dans la rkgion de champ dlectrique tres haut, tout au-dessous de la surface, il n'y a pas de quantization. Nous pensons, en examinant les rksultats obtenus, que cette technique peut 6tre tr6s utile pour ktudier les effets magneto-hlectriques.
