“…The values of the four Weibull parameters L 0 , sat , W and S maximizing the probability P represent the best fit for the test data [9], [10]. In other words, the best fit parameters for the test data are the ones for which the probability P, probability to carry out the measurements, is maximum.…”

“…As other (L 0 , sat , W, S) parameters, associated to any probability P, move away from the best fit, the likelihood ratio logarithm varies about a ² distribution [9], [10].…”

“…In addition, we have also pointed out that using the means and standard deviations we can generalize the results for any well behaved distribution form using the method of moments. Finally, it is a trivial exercise to fit data simultaneously to multiple distributions and assess potential distribution dependence as in [4].…”

“…Application of model selection techniques to the Bayesian methodology is straightforward, since the metrics used to compare models are based on the likelihood, which is also needed to apply Bayes' Theorem. Also, fortunately, parts with truly pathological (e.g., bimodal or thick-tailed) radiation performance are rare [4].…”
