“…This study aims to further explore this subject by interviews with visitors to a Dutch festival that, in its aims and program, centers on spiritual development and transformation. Similar to what authors have observed for the New Age movement (Hill et al, 2000;Ivakhiv, 2003;Lewis, 1992;Russo-Netzer & Mayseless, 2014;Taylor, 2005), visitors to this festival explicitly search for spirituality beyond the traditional institutions of religion, and in this search give a central place to experiences in nature. Both studies' data were analyzed using qualitative methods: The peer provider study employed a grounded theory approach (Moran, Russinova, Gidugu, et al, 2012) while the non-clinical study was analyzed with a phenomenological perspective (Russo-Netzer & Mayseless, 2014). Both studies provided rich accounts of processes of positive change and displayed the participants' own voices regarding the phenomenon explored.…”
