Abstract: Sempre que a análise da punição se concentra no conjunto de práticas e instituições que integram a resposta estatal aos crimes cometidos por crianças e adolescentes, uma espécie de conversão se torna necessária: adolescentes não cometem crimes, mas "atos infracionais"; não são punidos, mas "responsabilizados"; não recebem penas, mas "medidas socioeducativas".
