This article is based on the characteristics of the control system of the universities in Russia and provides an analysis of existing procedures, forms, and the components of external and internal control. The subjects and objects of control are systematized and the object matrix of the control system of the activities of Russian universities has been developed. The authors offered recommendations on the compilation and use of university ranking, and on the implementation of procedures for the evaluation of university educational program. The implementation of activities proposed by the authors will contribute to the Performance improvement of controlling activities of both Russian and foreign universities.

This article describes the insights of the future evolution of financial accounting in the context of the digital economy, and the strategy for introducing corporate social responsibility into financial accounting and reports. The requirement for introducing corporate social responsibility is explained primarily by the companies’ growing awareness of their obligations to society. Companies in the modern world tend to do business with due account of the current social tasks and issues. Those businesses that do consider the implications of their operations make corporate social responsibility their strategic priority. The pioneers in corporate social responsibility, who were the first to speak openly on the topic, were Mr. G. Swope, President of General Electric, and Mr. W. Gifford, President of American Telephone and Telegraph Company. The idea of the social responsibility of business has spread all over the world and was adopted by many companies, resulting in the emergence of the concept of corporate social responsibility. Today, business is a valid corporate citizen exercising its influence on the social, economic and political environment. As such, it may not allow itself to neglect the social background of its activities since it may result in the deterioration of its public image and the way it is perceived by its consumers and investors

This article reveals the value of statistical data disclosed in the reporting on the sustainable development of economic entities in unstable economic conditions. The principles and methods of preparing reports on sustainable development of economic entities are determined. The fundamental principle of sustainable development is the requirement of the necessary compliance with the criteria of sustainability. According to the concept of sustainable development for economic subjects, it is necessary to form ways of the long term strategic development in order to increase business value taking into account the requirements of socio-economic and environmental responsibility, which determine the priority of providing information including statistical data for conducting the research. The involvement of economic entities in the concentration of sustainable development through reporting for the stakeholders will allow society to get the greatest effect from the activities of such business entities
