The hotel sector generates related environmental aspects from its construction process to the operation of its activities, products and services. In this way, corporate environmental management becomes directly linked, since it provides an adequate management of its resources, thus minimizing impacts. Thus, this research aims to carry out a socioeconomic and environmental diagnosis of the hotel sector in the municipality of Mossoró-RN. The study was classified in an exploratory, descriptive and explanatory way, with a qualitative-quantitative approach that is based on bibliographic, documentary and field research, carried out in 10 lodging facilities, through the application of questionnaires, on general aspects, initial environmental assessment and environmental aspects, and the data obtained were treated in Microsoft Excel software with the objective of creating a model and demonstrating results on the sustainable level of each establishment in question. The profile of the lodging facilities analyzed is characterized by 50% having from 10 to 30 rooms, 80% having between 10 and 30 employees, 80% being micro-enterprises, with 50% in an area of 750 m² to 2250 m² and 80% operating for more than 10 years. Point out a relevant result on the impacts of companies. The projects analyzed were built without any complaint for environmental crime and without negative impacts on the local population. Actions to reduce consumption were also observed, especially for the rationalization of water and energy. To this end, it points out that the adoption of the Environmental Management System (EMS) as a differential in the management of aspects and impacts of the hotel sector.

This study aims to assess the relationship between entrepreneurial guidance and cost practices in hotels. The material to carry out descriptive and relational research with a quantitative approach was a self-administered questionnaire answered by hotel managers in 16 cities in the South region of Brazil. The data collected were analyzed using ANOVA and Spearman's correlation analysis. The results of this study showed that hotels that adopt the activity-based costing method and form the price considering market values are the ones that have the highest entrepreneurial orientation, respectively. Among the practical implications, the results can assist in management decision-making. At the same time, when working with the formation of the daily rate, it is found that the hotels that carry out pricing based on market values are the ones that have the best cost practices. The study has originality, as it demonstrates a conservative attitude in hotels regarding risk-taking.

O presente trabalho teve por objetivo de caracterizar e analisar as transformações ambientais decorrentes da atividade portuária e seus efeitos no desenvolvimento local da vila de Itupanema, no município de Barcarena/PA, ao longo dos últimos 20 anos. As análises dos aspectos e impactos ambientais foram realizadas pelo processo analítico de Avaliação Pós-Ocupação (APO) com base bibliográfica e de levantamentos de dados georreferenciados. A partir da imagem de sensoriamento remoto selecionada, realizou-se a APO, por meio da técnica de interpretação visual, radiação eletromagnética e classificação digital de imagens para investigação empírica dos fenômenos ambientais da expansão urbana e dos impactos na Vila Itupanema. Os resultados apontaram que houve um crescimento progressivo de áreas urbanas em detrimento da floresta. Conclui-se que a Vila de Itupanema sofre mudanças no seu território pela chegada dos grandes empreendimentos, com especial destaque para empresas Albrás, Alunorte, Pará Pigmentos, Imerys Rio Capim Caulim entre os anos de 2000 e 2005, e posteriormente com a construção dos Portos, que provocaram uma metamorfose na paisagem, com destaque para supressão da floresta que deu lugar a áreas urbanas, decorrentes da expansão populacional do munícipio de Barcarena. Tais mudanças propiciaram diversos impactos ambientais, dentre eles o intenso desflorestamento e a falta do desenvolvimento local esperado na comunidade Vila de Itupamena.Palavras-chave: Atividade Portuária, Gestão ambiental, Impactos Ambientais e Desenvolvimento local. Port activity in Barcarena (Pará): Caracterization and anvironmental analysis of its effects on the local development of the village of Itupanema A B S T R A C TThe current work’s main objective is to characterize and analyze the environmental changes caused by the port activity and their effects over the local development at Itupanema village, located at Barcarena County / PA, over the past 20 years. The analysis of the aspects and environmental impacts was realized through the analytical process of Evaluation Post-Occupation (APO) based in bibliography and georeferenced data setting-up. Starting at the selected remote sensing image, the APO took place by visual interpretation technique, eletromagnetical radiation and digital classification of the images for empirical investigation of the environmental urban expasion fenomena and the impacts over Itupanema village. The results showed that was a progressive growth of urban areas over the vegetation. As results, this work concludes that the Itupanema village had suferred sensitive changes caused by the great enterprises established near the community, with special emphasis on Albrás, Alunorte, Pará Pigmentos, Imerys Rio Capim Caulim from 2000 to 2005, and after that was affected by the construction of the Ports, making a metamorphosis at the original landscape, highlighting the suppression of the green areas giving place to urban areas as side reflex of the populational expansion at the Barcarena County. The changes were the main responsible of several environmental impacts as the deforestation and the absence of the local development expected for the the Itupanema village community.Key-words: Portuary Activity, Environmental Management, Environmental impacts, Local Development.
